1. I actually caught their last gig (Houston)

after Stacey was killed.
I had seen them many times over the years but I will never forget that show. Roky with his bandaid (third eye, you know) on his forehead.
The hall was under a freeway overpass and burned down the next night.

True story.

Roky is now (after the stolen mail bit) living in a trailer behind a XXX arcade and shop off Hwy71 west of Austin and can still hit the high ones. He has thousands of songs and actually released a solo album a few years ago.
Asked how he decided which songs -out of so many- to put on the album Roky replied "I picked the easy ones".

Where have you been? Do not pine for lost time- you are here now.

2. I prefer Roky's solo stuff.

"I Think Up Demons" and "Mine Mine Mine" are brilliant songs. But I'll listen to anything he sings on.

4. IMO, the greatest rock singer ever, as far as raunch is concerned.

Others have more range, but no one can touch Roky when it comes to ballsiness.

5. An added note.....

The Elevators used to play high school, VFW, Eagles Hall dances all over the Houston area in those early daze.
Herman (Purple) Ousley's sister lived near us and I dated his niece. I used to make a KILLING at those shows (if you know what I mean- you would have to be pretty old).
