chicago white sox exemplify liberal values
player after player came up to the mike last night and said- we are all pulling on the same rope. we are a family. my teammates are unselfish/

that, in a nutshell, is what it means to be a liberal. every player matters to that organization. they picked up a player like bobby jenks, who was shaky with another club, a "head case", and steadied him up. big star frank thomas was hurt, but was there in the clubhouse, pulling for the team, every day. the gm's ob was to go out and get, not great players, but great team players. they played small ball, not power ball. if one guy didn't get it done, the next guy did. the ownership takes care of their employees, and gives back to their city. ever employee of the club came along to houston.
and, of course, ozzie, and the venezuala connection. i tell ya, they are downright pinko!

so, that's my new motto- we are all pulling on the same rope.
good guys wear black! thank you white sox!

2. market research
black is cool. and a natural with white. and a very popular color.
and if you know your history, you know that it was not really the players who were the bad guys. they did what they did because they were getting screwed by the owners. the real fans around here who know the whole story see it as one more example of the blue collar spirit of this team.

6. i wasn't watching b-ball for a while because of this, myself
sick of big money sluggers, who are really cheaters. and the rest who say they cannot complete without cheating themselves.
but the sox have been playing such beautiful ball. and they have always been a blue collar team. since back in the bill veck era, they have been the people's team, living in the shadow of the rich media bubble around that other team.
i hope that hugo offers ozzie a couple of citgo stations, and follows through on his plan to help poor people in america. oz knows how to find them.

4. pulling the same rope is easy....
Edited on Thu Oct-27-05 12:25 PM by expatriot
the hard part is making sure everyone is pulling on the same end of said rope.

on edit: this comment is not in direct reaction to your comments, I just thought it was a witty comeback.
