Poll question: 2006 World Series: Which will YOU pull for??!?!?!
Just as an aside to Cards fans, sooner or later you have to realize that La Russa is part of the problem and not the solution---He's become known more for his great failures than successes...The first baseball team I ever rooted for was La Russa's Oakland A's of the late 80s, and I remember very clearly those incredible WS trainwrecks in 1988 and 1990...And even though since '96 I've pulled for the Cards in postseason (if the Mets are not in), I'm beginning to wonder why with him still in charge...

btw...I guess I have to hold my nose and root for the Black Sox

Sorry, polls are turned off at Level 3.

Great poll. I'm really trying to not be bitter. I really am. And yes, LaRussa overmanages to a FAULT. Arg. But seriously, if a Chicago team is in the World Series, you know the end times are a comin'.

3. I'm rooting for the grounds crew or the umpires.
Seriously, I hope the games are good. Since my team is out now, who cares who wins?

6. maybe a change in playoff format will come
one of the postseason trends i first noticed (and others as well), is that the teams that had their divisions locked up a long time ago came out kind of flat...For starters, I'm sorry, but San Diego did not belong in the postseason, division winners or not...No one can tell me (all things being equal) that they deserved a playoff berth over Florida, or red-hot Philadelphia, who were just one game short of Houston for the WC....I'm pretty sure that if the White Sox didn't get that HUGE scare from Cleveland and wrapped up their division early, they probably would have lost in the first round as well...

oh well, i guess the StL offense chose a bad time to go cold...Which goes to show that teams playing meaningful games at the top of their form in the last 2 weeks of the season have an edge over the rest...hopefully something will get changed where there are more important games for division leaders late in the season, and to prevent a team like SD making it in again...

8. White Sox-the Astros have to be the most homogenized team ever
I really hate to say this but I can't tell them apart. The White Sox on the other hand look like a witches brew.

Oh and is Ausmus ALWAYS at bat. In the NLDS and NLCS if I was flipping around and came back to their game(s) Ausmus was always at bat, always.

9. I'm with you
My rooting interests all got knocked out. Since the Twins didn't make it (and didn't deserve to) I was rooting for the BoSox and the Cards. It hurts to say it, but I will be pulling for the Mighty Whities.
