What DVD bargains have YOU gotten?
Went to my neighborhood Movie Trading Co.

They have the bin that has the DVD's without original box, artwork etc. All 4.99 Usually these all SUCK so I've largely given up spending the few minutes to sift through, but I did this time.

"Fellowship of the Ring" DVD, plus the extras DVD. 4.99
"A Mighty Wind" 4.99

and I picked up a Sopranos DVD for 4.99, and picked up "Crash" (the Don Cheadle one) for 11.99

I was really pleased with the FOTR, have watched parts, looks okay so far!

1. Our Blockbuster routinely offers previously viewed DVDs for
as little as $5. Beats going to the movies. At least for me.

I just picked up Lost in Translation, Big Fish, and Arlington Road. Have yet to watch any of them.

6. The first time I saw it
I couldn't believe the ending. Are they really going to do this? No, surely not. Where's the helicopter ...

I just hope to god they don't fuck with it in the Nicholas Cage remake.

8. A remake?
Good grief. Hollywood has to remake everything these days. No imagination.

12. It's directed by
Neil LaBute - who did In The Company of Men and Nurse Betty - is directing his own screenplay adaptation, so there's some hope. I think I read a week or so ago that they've finished filming (as Cage was about to do Oliver Stone's 9-11 movie).

7. I got both seasons of "Sports Night" for full price
It'd be the best deal ever at twice the price, since we watch them all the time.

But your FOTR plus extras DVDs--that's exceptionally sweet.

10. "Jeeves and Wooster" the collection. $78
Hard to believe. What a great DVD collection, and if as you as a DUer doesn't enjoy P.D. Wodehouse, then you are condemned to intellectual conversations with the reprehensible Spode.

13. I was too young the first time round
but I caught some of the episodes when they got repeated a year or so ago and was suprised by how much I loved them. Stephen Fry will endear me to anything, but the material really shone by itself.
