| How hard is it to learn furnace maintenance? |
|
We're tired of taking a day off so someone can come out to do what seems to be mainly vacuuming the inside of the furnace for about $100.

and that's in it. There's a bit more than vacuuming but my husband read about it and did it in less than half an hour.

| 5. I just scheduled a cleaning for $125. |

I have an oil furnace. Last year I changed the filter myself, but they ended up doing that when they came to service it. They put in a new burner tip and clean it. I'm wndering if they make it burn more fuel (since they work with the fuel company? I'd rather not take a chance with combustable devices.

| 7. It doesn't look that difficult, does it? |
|
Surely we can save both money and aggravation by learning how to do it ourselves.
