3. ARCHIE!! Weird-looking dudes and the titsy women that love them!
I say that, but I have (and still read) stacks of Archie and Richie Rich comics from the 60s (my dad's), 70s and 80s.

5. I was sure that Reggie Mantle would be doing time by now...
... for insider trading committed during the late '80's and early '90s.

Either that, or perhaps be a leading televangelist under investigation for embezzling the flock's money and spending it on prostitutes....

6. Yes...he was probably mixed up in that whole insider trading
and tax evasion mess that Mr. Lodge got himself into.

11. Yeah, but he would have framed Archie for it
Betty would have to straighten the whole mess out.

I always liked Jughead the best, anyways, for being a free thinker. Betty should have given up on Archie and given Jughead a chance, imo.

8. Didn't the Archie characters go fundieChristian for a while?
Or is that just my imagination runnin' away with me? I seem to remember some Archie comics that were witnessin' the Gospel pretty heavily. Maybe the creators just licensed the characters out or something......

9. Character Licensure . . .
I have one of the fundie Archie comics in one of my collections - it's not drawn by one of their artists and it's for a ministry of some sort.

10. Thanks for the info.
I figured that it must have been something like that. The Archie comics have always been squeaky clean, but they were never religious in any sense.

13. Interesting tale that....
The originator of the Archie comic is/was a Christian, but a UCC and fairly mainline Christian. Apparently he didn't know much about fundies (they weren't that public about their craziness back in the 70's) so he licensed them to do some church related stuff, thinking it would be the usual "pay attention in school, don't do drugs, be nice to people" stuff.

After seeing a few of their fundie themes, he cancelled the contract.

But, they've been doing everything together for a long time...
