WTF is up with AutoCAD and 'fatal errors' ???
never had that happen until after R14 - with 2000 and up you never know when this program is just gonna take a dump on ya. and maybe you've gotta save only 5 minutes old, but when you're really rocking, 5 minutes is alot of work.

seems a program you pay 500 bucks or more for shouldn't still have this problem after 5 years.

:grr:

oy.

1. You have enough RAM.
If you don't have enough ram and sometimes just plain hd space, then this will happen. autocad is a memory hog, and until rel-2002 had issues with windows. I'm running rel-2002.

this has been an issue in every version i've worked in, in different conditions, since 2000. nobodys been able to explain why it does it, but it should have been fixed by now.

AutoCAD website and get the updates if needed. Also go to Microsoft's website and get any updates. You might want to increase the amount of Virtual Memory in the system; do you know how to do that?

On Edit: Defrag your Hard Disk.

4. Acad is the problem.....
We ditched it in 98 and went to Pro/e. I still use it now and then for archive stuff, or when a customer needs an Acad file. We have a couple of Inventor seats here, but it's still Autodesk and still kinda cheesy.
