My roomie had the best mistake at work
Edited on Thu Oct-13-05 01:22 AM by HEyHEY
She took a photo of a kid skateboarding, and ran the pic as a standalone. That day they got a phonecall... no one who edited the paper noticed the graffiti... the kid was jumping over "Fuck you!" spray painted on the ramp...and in the background another one said "Spill virgin blood!"

Now, if' you're gonna fuck up, that's the way to do it!

10. Radio and print, living under the same roof?
Oddly enough, I can't think of a joke for that.

6. Heidi's bad headline.
I sympathize with your friend. Here's the worst headline I ever wrote during my career as a print journalist:

"Drug and alcohol speaker on tap"

9. I think I had my share.
Another was "Five arraigned in district court," which ran just below a three-column photo of five county deputies presenting a check to the "Operation Santa Claus" fund drive. :eyes:

12. I heard this on CCN - "up next - authorities are looking for three men
who came into the United States but first ..."

Without a pause, it sounded like those guys were in trouble for entering the US butt first.

13. I can top it. My brother doug installs security alarms.
And he was training a new guy. Any how the house they were working at had two dogs one was a bishon, the other was an old german shepard. Anyhow the alarm was located at the base of the floor and when the dogs would run down the stairs the dogs wieght would trigger the alarm. So anyhow doug tells mike to factor in the dogs weights going down the stairs and that should take care of the problem.
So Doug is with the owner and all of a sudden he hears a thud and the alarm goes off . The dog barks and the guy yells "am on it." A few minutes later There's another loud thud, followed by barking, and doug and the owner run into the living room. The guy was throwing the dogs onto the alarm to see if thier wieght was setting off the system when all he had to do was punch in the numbers manually.

14. Headline for a medical Q&A column about aneurysms:
Bulge size dictates course of action.

(I kid you not)
