We're just 8 miles west of the city and not in the mountains, either. Rainy all day and now it's snowing. Yipes!

19. It always looks so pretty
but breaks your back when you're shoveling it.

This is why I'm moving South from New York.

12. Wow.
We've got family there. They tried to get us to move to Colorado, and we did spend a summer there, but I would never survive that climate. It's way too harsh and extreme for me. 30 degrees and snowing one day, 70 and melting the next, then back to snow ... and it's sooo dry at times ... and the high altitude ...

Colorady is pretty, but I'll never leave my coast! Love that Pacific Ocean moderating the climate. I'll take the rain.

15. Still coming down here in Lakewood
I need to go to the grocery store later. Yipee!

I just hope this doesn't break cottonwood branches. I remember that freak snow we had in the 90s. It was in September and we lost a few major limbs off our trees. So far it doesn't look that bad.

17. I hope your trees survive as well
I've got one broken already today. It was about 4 years old. Trunk wasn't stout enough to support the snow accumulated in the branches. This is a heavy, wet snow we're getting.

:hi:

18. Sorry about your tree
We have very old cottonwoods that grow along the old irrigation ditches. Two in our yard and they're giants. So far, hubby sez there are small branches falling around the neighborhood. No big limbs down. Yeah, this wet snow is so heavy. I'm concerned about the slushiness sticking to the leaves and freezing tonight.
