You can serve creamed spinach and corn as sides and get away with it because the main course is so good..and serve nice mesclin greens as a salad with simply chunks of blue cheese and balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

5. FIrst of all, I wouldn't want anything that had to be killed for my eating
enjoyment.

I would start off with:

Hearts of palm salad.

Then move on to:

Linguine with mushrooms and whole roasted garlic.

And for dessert:

Bread pudding with a bourbon or brandy base or an orange or peach sorbet.

Nothing had to die and its an excellent meal - in fact, I'm eating it tonight!
