Can you recommend a good starter telescope? I'd like to get started and see if I can spot anything besides the full moon. I'd rather not spend too much over $100. Thanks!

3. For 100 bucks...you'll get Junk...for 200-250 ..you'll get a decent..
..quality scope that will hang around for years plus the images will look bright and clear. (The coatings won't fall off the mirror/Lens) PLUS the fact that if you get bored with the whole deal, you can probably get 150 for it on E-Bay...

5. consider an electronic servo motor for viewing it is worth the money
Consider the EQ-1M, EQ-2M and EQ-3M Electronic Drives , which are adaptable to your scope, but I don't know if it will interface with a lap top which is really cool.
