What have you listened to today?
No listening to topics have been created in three days! Let's get it going. :-)

Hope Partlow - Who We Are (her voice is one that stands out nicely, and her style is promising - I'm glad I bought it)

New Pornographers - Twin Cinema (can't listen to it enough!)

Listened to the new Bon Jovi on the full album listening party, and while I like their stuff in general, this one is not good at all.

That's all for today so far.

17. They were great.....
They just played a "comeback" show in Chicago a week ago. I didn't go.

"Big Brown Eyes" might be the greatest song to ever come out of North Carolina.

21. Great band
I knew Peter Hosapple a bit back in the day, and he's a super nce guy. I always thought the album he made w/ Chris Stamey "Mavericks" was one of the great lost albums on the 90's. Brilliant cut after brilliant cut, and they never sang together better.

20. They're my favorite band EVER.
It's too bad Jim Greer is working on a Pollard bio right now, as I would have given my left nut to be the first to write Bob's hagiography.

I'm still too poor to catch up with GbV's "Rockathon"/Fading Captain output, however...something tells me diminishing returns are what awaits me.

Latests news from the GbV grapevine is that Bob is planning ANOTHER Suitcase box set! Can you imagine?! Just how much great stuff is STILL locked in his vault?

24. That guy has more songs than the Kinks....
...and more personel changes than the Byrds...

I like to get their stuff on vinyl- shoot- their last one is just as good as anything.

I dont have the whole Box set- just that huge "Best of" Disc and a few LPs...

A great band- almost as great as The Who!

27. Pollard has thousands of songs
on tape I would bet; the only other guy I would think who has a more extensive cataloge of unreleased stuff maybe is Neil Young...

The 2nd best show I ever went to was a Afghan Wigs/GBV show in 1994 in Cincinnati; at that moment, they were the greatest band in the world.
