Who's your favorite "likeable doofus/sad sack" on TV (past or present)?

No contest - Tobias Funke from Arrested Development.

It's hard to top getting yourself unintentionally involved in a gay protest as an accidental by-product of dressing up as a pirate but Tobias manages to effortlessly reach new levels while maintaining an air of blissful unawareness.

1. Luther Van Dam (Jerry Van Dyke) on "Coach."
The episode where he confessed to picking out his family vacation one year (a lovely sounding place called Pearl Harbor) sticks out particularly.

3. Tom Poston's character (George? I think) from "Newhart"
I like Tom Poston anyway, but George(?) and the clown from last season's "Committed" are my two favorite characters of his.

5. I agree, Tobais is a no-brainer!
I especially love this dialogue from season 2:

Tobais : Even if it means me taking a chubby, I will suck it up!
Tobais: Nothing wrong with that.
Tobias : I've been in the film business for a while but I have yet to get one in the can!
Tobias: Context.
Tobias : I wouldnt mind kissing that man between the cheeks!
Tobias: Tobias. You blow hard!

12. Howard Borden on the "Bob Newhart Show"
(Howard takes totally burned-to-a-cinder turkey out of the oven)
Emily: "Howard, what happened to the turkey?"
Howard: "But I followed the directions! It said one half hour for every pound and I weigh 175."

Maybe you had to be there, but I'm
