7. The word testify

Is based on the word testies. And of course as with most things from the past came about in a truly stupid way. To testify was to place one's hand on or near the testicles (they being the source of power). One would swear upon these and risk losing them if one lied. Thus it was that for a very long time women could not testify in any sort of court.

So yes.... go ahead and testify.

If I eat one donut a day for three days, I will gain a pound. As far as my tastes go... For every three plain, I eat a choc. cruller or a bear claw. Nothing is more disappointing htan a shitty cardboard tasting cinnamon bun, which happens more often than I'd like to say.

29. I could really, really go for a couple right now.

I worked last night/this morning (7pm-7:30am) and I had a problem with my hot water heater, so at 11:30 (had been asleep 3 hours by then), I was awoken by the fix-it guy. He rambled and rambled, said he'd call before he sent someone. I got back to sleep and then he called at 1:00, the guy came 20 minutes later and just left.

Now I have to leave in an hour to take a test, I'm pooped, and the protein bar I just ate isn't cuttin' it. I NEED SUGAR! NOW!
