I just had an experience that might make me believe in karma...
...Well, maybe not believe in fully, but certainly a nice story if nothing else.

As I often bemoan here on DU, I am a sterotypical college student. That is to say I live off of rice and beans, mac n' cheese, and pot. I jump for joy at 10/10$ deals of rice and beans. You know the type.

So, today, after classes, I stop in the restroom and come upon a lovely ring that seemed to be a diamond ring; it could've been a cheap ring, but I supose that's besides the point.
Anyways, I turned it in, knowing that if it was a legit diamond ring, it would have easily paid this year's entire cost of living, including text books AND Yankee tickets (which I haven't been able to go to).

As I was walking out of the building after turning the ring into the Student Affairs office, I stumble upon an abandoned department banquent (cheap, mostly chips, cookies, and veggies, but delish looking to this veggie starved student). The remaining person told me to take what I want.

And here I am back at home with a full backpack of cookies (which I've been craving of late), chips, salsa, and veggies :)

3. I know I know
x(

It was horribly tempting...knowing that most of the students at Boston College (65%) come from households exceeding 200K...that ring could've been, in all likelihood, painlessly replaced.

But fuck...I'd have hated myself.

And these grapes are good.

5. Guess what...it's probably just a sign that you did the right thing
and that you'll reap an even better return in the long run.

I'm not religious, I've just seen it happen many, many times.

Good for you for turning it in. It wouldn't have been worth the money, to have that on your conscience. You are a Dem after all. We're the ones with hearts and souls! :toast:

13. What kind of karma is this?
Stale cookies and leftover vegetables for a diamond ring?

I give this round to Calvin.
