OK, should I ask my romantic interest out to lunch today?
Edited on Mon Sep-12-05 08:36 AM by ZombieNixon
I've been "friends" with this girl in college for a while now. I have her phone number and she doesn't seem to be pissed off when I call her. We have no classes together and she lives in another dorm, far away from mine. I have been reluctant to become too good friends with her since I am romantically interested in her. Should I call her and ask her to lunch today. I know that we both only have an hour between classes from 11:50 to 1:00. Should I do it? Is it too corny? Should I wait? Damn it, I hate playing this game!

3. Not corny at all
Can't expect her to read your mind to know that you're interested. If your interested, you have to let her know somehow.

5. Of course...
Lunch is a nice first "thing to do" because it is pretty lowkey, and if you or she finds that you don't quite hit it off as friends or more... well, it was only lunch. :)

6. You think it's OK to do it over the phone?
It's basically the only contact I have.

10. OH well...
So..my message should have said: CALL HER AT 11:55! But that doesn't have the same impact...

Anyway, have a great time! And if it doesn't happen today...

There's always tomorrow...

Hang in there, ZombieNixon...good luck to you ....:hi:

12. All right, what should I say?
I don't wanna screw this up. Is "Hi, are you busy? Would you like to come grab some lunch with me?" OK?

13. "I'm about to head to X to get some lunch. I'd like it if you joined me."
X being the destination of course.

Ooooo...lunch time for me - no date. ;)

Don't be a weenie and keep dithering around. I'd say "just do it," but NIKE has ruined that phrase for all of us.

It seems I fucked up my memory of her schedule, or else she stayed after class. I called her and she said she was still "at class." I don't know if that means I interrupted a lecture or she was just waiting to talk to the prof. Anyhow, I sent her a very apologetic message via Facebook. We'll see what happens.

It was 12:10! Who volunteers for a class exactly at lunchtime? Perhaps that means she's more studious than I thought. Sexy!

17. Procrastinate!
It's easy to do. And you can always ponder the what if. sometimes the purely hypotheticals are better than the real versions.

Or if you get tired of the lonely guy syndrome, check her out better next time. If you do get to talk to her in person, try this:

Look right at her intensely for about ten seconds. Then look away slowly, then turn your head back quickly to see if she is still looking at you. This means she is interested in you and you are not delusional.

This technique and others will appear in my forthcoming treatise:

"Correct Mate Selection Strategies as illuminated by Red Cloud Jr."

Man, that little buzzard is a chick magnet. Any age, he has something that he does that works. And he is but 6.

18. Just do it.
I'm a "go for it" type in areas of romantic-ness (is that a word?). "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" is my moddo. Do it!
