I had a good workout today.
I walked 3.5 miles in an hour. And it may not be over yet. How about you? Yesterday, in addition to my regular workout of 3.5 miles and weight lifting, a friend called and wanted to know if I wanted to walk the bike path with him. The bike path is located on a levey for a river that runs along side our town. I told him I thought that was an excellent idea seeing as how I was just sitting here at my computer not burning any calories. We ended up walking 4 miles and we did most of the walking at night. It was a very nice time. The sky was clear and the river was smooth. We would pass people along the way who were sitting by the river fishing and enjoying a camp fire. We talked nearly the whole time we walked. I've known the guy since we were kids and the walking also seemed conducive to the talking.

I think I'm going to try to get him to do it again tonight.

And one more measly little pound and I will have lost 20. I think I can get it over the next couple of days if I do the bike path thing as well as my usual workout.

2. Thank you
I've got 60 pounds to go, though, before I get below 200. But I'm already feeling a lot better.

3. Wow, Droopy..kudos to you!
You have gone at this with considerable doggedness...

And it is paying off...

Now, instead of your good friend, you just need to find a compatible girl to walk with...

As you point out, walking is conducive to talking...

What better way to court a girl?

Has anyone caught your eye yet at your gym?

Good luck.....

:woohoo: :woohoo:

4. Hi, Peggy
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I talked my friend into going out with me again tonight and walking the bike trail. We walked 4 miles. It would have been farther, but I got creeped out about walking through some woods. As you may know it's already dark on the east coast.

I've seen lots of nice looking women at the gym, but I haven't talked to any of them yet. But as the weight falls off me, my confidence improves so maybe I'll start conversing with them pretty soon. But then again, when somebody is in the middle of a workout they might not want to be bothered. I'll see how it goes.

5. No worries, my dear Droopy....
I full well realize that you on the east coast, more or less, are 3 hours ahead of us on the west!

I find that it's easy to talk to someone when I'm riding my stationary bike...

This is just perfect for striking up a conversation, and I've made several friends just that way...

And I'm not even looking ...it's just nice to have someone to bitch with during the workout...

Good Luck! (not that you need it)

:hi:
