How Bush fiddled as New Orleans drowned (dial up warning)
August 29th, the day Katrina hit. It was believed it would hit at a category 5. This storm was about 3 times the size of Hurricane Charley, which hit last year as a Cat 4 and was moving at a much higher rate of speed.

George Bush, the President of the United States, was on "working vacation".

This man lost his wife in the water.

August 30th. The day after.
A photo op with the non-chickenhawks that served in WW2, and a little guitar playing, and some golf, which no one has a picture of, so he must have felt a little guilty about it.

August 31st. Two days later. The Presidential Fly-Over. Pleas for more National Guard troops and relief aid fall upon very slow ears. Meantime, the President decided to fuel his ego and his Air Force One flying fortress for a useless fly-over of the Gulf. He could have opened the cargo doors to drop some food and water.

September 1st. Three days later. Bush finally decides it is time to send more troops in. Guess the Western White House doesn’t have all the capacity it is rumored, but, then again, Bush may have just been to busy golfing. Oh, and Bush said he didn’t think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees. In real life, the folks in the New Orleans convention center have been without food, water, and other necessities for quite a while.

This is from a blog:
There are supplies sitting in Baton Rouge for the folks in New Orleans, but the National Guard has the city surrounded and is not letting anyone in or out. They are turning away people with supplies, claiming it is too dangerous. If we have planes that can drop bombs on people in Iraq, certainly we can air drop supplies into the city. Our government is KILLING the people of New Orleans. This is the message I am now sending to all major media sources, national and worldwide, as well as posting to email lists, blogs, etc. The story is getting out that the people there are not getting supplies, but the truth of WHY is not. Please help spread the word, we must get this story out. Please so not let any more of my friends die.

Another blog:
People 'Living Like Animals' at Convention Center

As New Orleans evacuates the Superdome, NPR's John Burnett describes a "desperate" situation for storm refugees at the nearby convention center. "There are, I estimate, 2,000 people living like animals inside the city convention center and around it," Burnett says. "They've been there since the hurricane. There's no food. There's absolutely no water, there's no medical treatment. There's no police and no security. And there are two dead bodies lying on the ground and in a wheelchair beside the convention center -- both elderly people, both covered with blankets now."

Mayor Nagin had a lot to say about the situation.

September 2nd, Four days. After two evenings of coverage on the Convention Center situation, FEMA director Brown says that this is the first he hear of it. Finally, additional troops arrive, along with the President with relief aid. Gee. A C130 and a parachute might have prevented some of those folks starving.

Turn to the camera, right over here!

After all this, a little boy says about all there is to say.

So, there it is folks.

2. No kidding.
Watching those videos of the folks at the convention center got me almost as mad as watching old race riot footage where people were hosed. It was a digrace.

9. TY, Mr Scorpio
It took a while to do. I could have done more, but I have a cold. I think that is Bush's fault, too. Ok, maybe it isn't.

:hi:

11. Good job putting this together
I just wish I didn't look at in though. It reminds me of what I have had to see at work. I can't get the image of a man dieing in the street out of my mind.

13. The video of the man who lost his wife is what killed me
That brought a lot of tears. I just wish we could find out if he found her.
