21. He Flew Over New Orleans IN AIR FORCE ONE... At THIRTY-THOUSAND FEET!!!
That's NOT the same thing as taking a helicopter tour of the area and seeing the devastation up-close. If he was too high up to be able to read stop-signs, then he was TOO HIGH UP to get a feel for how horrible the scene really is.
6. I'm sorry ((Texasgal)), I wish I could...but it's true
He was starting the speech. It was clear he didn't know what to say--maybe whoever was pitching him the speech in his earpiece wasn't quite ready, but he seemed like he had no idea what to say.
Then out of the blue, he says something to the affect of,"I'd like to acknowledge the great state of Texas--and the great work they did at the Superdome. Texas,is doing great things with the Astrodome blah, blah...Gotta thank Texas..."
Not shittin' you.
Then I just saw the Gov. of Texas saying,"Such a blessing that this thing didn't hit Houston!"
Of course it's a blessing it didn't--but did it have to be SAID? Isn't that a bit callous toward those it DID hit?
No offense to Texas, but he sounded like he had asshat tendencies...
Not all the people from Texas are like him. There are good people there!
I'm sorry, Texasgal--It must be awful to see a representative of your home be so, so,....well you know. No words to describe it. My heart goes out to you. Hang in there--he's totally digging his grave these days.
A got fucked in favor of B B got blessed A is no better than B B was lucky There was no moment where GAWHD-AH said "OH SHIT, It's headed for TEXAS", and suddenly started doing body language towards the right like an amateur bowler.
