3. I like the Steak and Cheese, but
you have to get the southwest sauce for it to be at its best.

I also like the Subway melt with sweet onion dressing.

Our Subways have gone up substantially in price recently. I've been going less.

11. I didn't know Subway was a red company...I'll keep that in
mind the next time I can afford to eat fast food.

Anyway, I voted for the Meatball with Provolone cheese sub.

16. Keep in mind that with franchised orgs, it's a small business owner who
earns the vast majority of profits - way more than the coorporate entity. So... while the corporation may be 'redish', they are likely getting only about 5% of a sale, likely less. The bulk goes to the small business owner.

24. OK, but... MANY of those franchises ARE Mom N Pop shops.
Mom N Pop, in a lot of cases, couldn't sustain without the brand recognition and buying power realized in a franchise.

That's all I'm saying... understand the structure and the fact that those are small, in many cases, family businesses that are able to get some structure, recognition, and cost savings in their business via franchising.

Did you know that Andy Stephenson owned a Subway?

7. Steer clear of the so-called "seafood" sub.
There is not a shred of real seafood in it. It's imitation crab all the way, and what exactly is that? If it's made from fish, as it claims, why not just call it fish? I think it's fishy all the way. (Pun totally intended.)

I actually recommend skipping Subway entirely, but then, I worked in the middle of nowhere for 3 years where the only thing within lunching distance was a Subway. I've eaten everything on the menu a million times.

:puke:

22. Tried the Italian club last night
I didn't really like it. It has ham, turkey, salami, and pepperoni on it and they seem to cover up each others flavor. Because of my weird food habits, I mostly have gotten ham or turkey subs. I usually get them on parmesean oregano bread with lettuce, green pepper, cucumber, and onions. They taste much better with mayo and/or vinegar and oil though.
Before I started thinking about calories, I did enjoy both the steak and meatball subs. My husband usually gets the steak and says that it is good and he thinks that Subway is inferior to most other sub restaurants.

23. NO to Subway
They're prime supporters of the ill-advised 9/11 'celebration' in DC -complete with registration for those who want to attend.

Stay the hell away from Subway until they pull their support...and so far they've not bothered to respond to my email asking why they're supporters of the event.

Quiznos or a local store (Spicy Pickle in Denver) are much better options!

go somewhere else. I gave up on Subway after several bad experiences and thanks to their French bashing campaign I have no plans on going back. I'd rather eat at Quizno's and the last time I did that I ended up in a long line a week later getting a shot because some employee had Hepatitis.

Edited to add that every local place I've ever been to has been as good if not better than the chain places.
