I went to ogle the chicks today...

There's this place near Redmond where I like to go look at chicks. They have the cutest chicks there! Today there were about eight of these running around:

Sometimes I think about adding another chick to our family, but then I remember we live in a small apartment and the neighbors get uptight about the noise levels...

The little grey chicks were sooo cute! They were at the klutzy age where they don't know how to use their beaks yet, and they stick everything into their mouths to play with it. One of them wanted to take my glasses off...

6. i have a parakeet

he's my baby! actually i've had it for months and i'm still not sure if it's male or female. can anyone help? i read online that if the flesh above the beak is bluish, it's a male, if it's brownish, it's a female.

but it's kind purplish blueish brownish :shrug:

i can't tell :( i haven't even officially named it because of that. all i call it now is 'crazy' because that's what he/she is!

Is the cere (that ridge of flesh around the nostrils) more smooth, or more rough? And how old is the bird?

17. mostly white, with some black on its wings

and light blue on it's chest, a little bit of light blue in other spots. throw in a teeny bit of light yellow, very light, on its back.

area around the nostrils looks smooth, i guess....

not sure how old, not even a year, i know that at least.

he/she is VERY hyper and chirps A LOT!!!! also flies a lot, and likes to play a lot.

7. I'm a sucker for baby birds!!!

I love going to pet stores and then pick up the baby birdies. Some are so trusting and loving, they fall asleep on your finger! :)

I am soooooo tempted to bring them all home. :loveya: But, I don't have the room. :(

I love African Greys. I wish I could have one. My mom is seriously allergic, and my husband is not a bird person at all. They are so adorable! I love parrots. Before my mom fell ill, she and my step dad had an awsome Blue and Gold, Sam, when I was growing up. I miss Sam.
