I watched it. Courtney Love, sober or not? I would say not. I would never agree to be roasted. Those comedians get ruthless.

1. It would suck but

one positive aspect is that you'd be pretty damn good at handling criticism afterward.

Aaah! I didn't know that was on! The roast was funny though.
I am not a big Pamela Anderson fan, but she is a good target for jokes. As was Courtney Love and Tommy Lee!

10. I'm kind of burned out on "Night Court" at the moment.
Markie Post and Ellen Foley are more to my taste.

14. Seeing Ellen Foley in the Night Court marathon reminded me......
that she needed desperately to be fed!

Good grief!

I also didn't know she was with one of the members of
The Clash.

She sang Punk as well.

4. Gee. Were there any enormous hooter jokes?

Seems like a huge waste of, well, EVERYTHING.

I'll never get the Pam Anderson thing. "I've got enough money to buy some manufactured big tits." So what?

7. There were a lot of those. But it was funny.
I am not a fan of hers either, but I knew some of the jokes were going to be funny. That is why I watched and they were funny. Crude, but funny!

6. Courtney Love was embarrasing
She should be in rehab, not on TV.

I'm also fairly sure Andy Dick was actually pissed. He got roasted much worse than plastic girl.

8. He did. I can never tell if his pissed off look is an act or
if he is really pissed off. Comedians usually can laugh at themselves. Courtney Love couldn't have possibly been sober.

9. You know, back in the day, roasts were for talented people with a legacy.
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 10:51 AM by Rabrrrrrr
Pamela is both too young, and too talentless, to have a roast.

She is not someone I would ever consider to roast, but she is a good target for some good jokes!

15. that was what was wrong with it!!!
I watched the first hour cuz it was the only time I recall my husband saying he wanted to be home by a certain time to watch tv. The jokes were funny, but even though I told myself this is a roast and the apprpriate time for tasteless jokes, I still felt a sting at some of them. But I think what you posted is why it got to over-the-top (for me anyway). Many of what were jokes were truths that needed to be dealth with, for example Courtney Love.

I can't help but feel some of the jokes must have hurt. Like the fat jokes about that one lady and how she was a turd compared to a sunset.

33. I know!
Comedy Central kept pimping and pimping this thing for months, and all the while I kept wondering why the fuck this no-talent assclown was being roasted. I'm way too young to know about old school roasts, but I always thought being roasted was supposed to be an honor reserved for, you know, people who are talented and have been in show business for ages. Not Baywatch bimbos who are famous solely because of the amount of silicone in their chests.

Who the hell is next, Paris Hilton?

12. Worth watching.
Pamela Anderson isn't on my A list (is she on anyone's?) but she took the barbs about her boobs, her sex tape with Tommy Lee, her boobs, her lack of any acting or musical talent, and her boobs (did I mention her boobs?) quite well.

Courtney Love was clearly on Mars. Maybe Jimmy Kimmel was right when he said she took a roofie before the show. I think she's flunked a court ordered drug test since then, too.

Andy Dick sure got slammed for being gay, and he scowled magnificently, but if he were that upset, why did he drop to his knees in front of Tommy Lee and feign giving him head near the end of the show?

Overall, I cringed, but I kept the TV on 'til the end.

13. Yes...
...I'm ashamed to say I stopped there for a while as I was flipping through channels out of boredom. I swear to fluff there was nothing else on. Honest.
Courtney rolled around on the couch a lot and lifted her legs into the air on occasion. Loaded? I'm still not sure. Her lipstick wasn't smeared. ;)

29. He is not too funny. I admit, he did learn on the job and get somewhat
better. He was the sidekick on Ben Stein's win my money -- who'd a thunk he'd have his own show. I also always thought Conan was totally unfunny. And still pretty much do. Worse, he is ungracious and always takes over an interview and makes it about him. You can't teach someone sincere curiosity.

Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 11:28 AM by tridim
What a piece of crap that was. I think he was lip synching too. Give it up dude, you're so over. :)

Edit: Some brilliant lyrics from Mr. "I used to be an average drummer in a crappy band":

Its lookin like we’re getting there
Over here, comin clear
Place that has no rhymes, or times, or crimes
Just good times
Just good times

Arrrrgggghhhhhh!

25. It was a train wreck.
First question: Why even wear a shirt if it allows everyone to see your cans right through it anyway? I don't get it. And is she aware of the fact that her nipples point at her face? That's not correct.

Second Question: When did Tommy Lee become a whiny shit-rocker. That song was straight O.C. material. It was garbage.

Third Questions: Were there any jokes that weren't about Pam's vagina, hooters, mouth, asshole or sex tape? If so, I totally missed them.

That being said, I watched the whole thing. But then again, sometimes I watch the whole "Laguna Beach" episodes too.

26. I like Laguna Beach! I know I am
too old for that stuff, but it is fun. The shirt Pam wore was completely see through. I've never understood the fascination with her boobs. They look like basketballs, very unnatural and hard looking. But all the jokes did seem to be about that. I watched it all too. I laughed a lot, but I also felt sorry for some of the people being made fun of.

28. I can't remember who the lady toward the end was, but she was FUNNY!
I almost choked to death on my wine when she said that Adam Carolla's genitals looked like a squirrel trying to fight it's way out of a royal crown bag.

And I didn't get the stuff about Bea Arthur at all. In fact, why the hell was she even there?

I think the whole thing was just a fund raiser for PETA.
