How is your evening/night going, DU?
I am in sort of a strange mood, sort of a pondering mood. Thinking of where I am, and where I've been, who I am, and who I've been.

Much has changed about me in the last few years. Most for better, some for worse.

Anyway, just want to say hey to the folks in DU land all around America, and the world!!

1. My evening is going fine
I'm getting ready to head out to the grocery store. We have a one near by that is open 24/7. The crowds will be much smaller by shopping late, too. There's something I like about wondering through the aisles looking for my next week's meals. Something soothing about it especially when you shop late at night.

3. I sometimes do that.
I used to drive around at night, just to think.

Hope you have fun shopping!

You probably are allowed to say that. Drink lots of water so you don't have a headache when you wake up!

5. Pretty good.
I'm just back from an MLS game - my Fire had a good first half, and held on for dear life in the second for a 2-1 win. So I'm not in a bad mood at all. :)

8. Better now...
I had to stand out in a thunderstorm for three hours at work. I was soaked to the bone.

But now I'm home, dry and comfy, watching Night Court...so I'm better. :)

12. hey, i can relate
in two days it will be my 36th birthday. the day after that, it would have been my 9th wedding anniversary, if my soon-to-be-legally-ex-wife had not decided to end our marriage on may 12 of this year.

in the last three months, everything has changed. i live in a different place across town, my circle of friends has changed dramatically, i have lost 20+ lbs, and i have survived a nervous breakdown and suicide attempt. the only thing that has remained the same is my job.

and i have not felt this good, or this optimistic about my future, in years. this sounds completely clichéd, but my life is a whole new adventure-- and i am looking forward to living what's left of it to the fullest.

19. thanks!
it's amazing how much you can learn in a very short period of time!

i used to think that the worst thing that could have ever happened to me was losing my marriage. then that happened, and i'm still here, and doing alright.

just goes to show that even when the 'worst' happens, you can still go on.

And the people I met when I was stationed in Iraq in 91, and I see how strong people are.

16. My evening is going very well, thanks!
I'm feeling quite comfortable....

Just finished a nice dinner...had a great workout today, and a truely absorbing nap later on...

Now I'm here where I'm finding myself most happy...posting and reading on DU...

Thanks for asking!

The Lounge seems mellow tonight....at least the threads I'm reading...

17. Hey there CaliforniaPeggy!
Yes, it is sort of mellow in here.

I think "pensive" is my state of mind. Not a bad pensive, though.

18. Nothing wrong with being pensive, IMHO....
We need some times when we can just simply observe ourselves and consider where we are, and where we're going....

The pensive mood accomplishes this, if we let it....

:hi: back atcha!

29. We did
The guy we bought it from had it as his wife's car, but she wanted a mini-van. I couldn't believe the shape inside and out the car was; for 10 years old it was immaculate..

22. Strange dreams, trying to figure out where I am going
Seems like big changes are in store, wondering how I am going to handle them. I kinda feel like after this year, I can handle anything, but I am a bit pensive about change.

26. We are resilient beings, humans.
I can have some funky dreams, too. I hope your changes turn out for the better. I think most of us are a bit pensive about change, even if we know it is for the best, there is a part of us that doesn't want to let go. But we do, and we are allright.

30. Thanks for that
Change is the biggest 'scare factor' there is, imhop, To not change is the very definition of fear, the reason we live instead of just exist. Thanks for the encouragement, nytemare.

32. I have changed my religion in the last few years.
It is a bit of a shock to the system, but I realized that just wasn't who I was anymore. I was sort of scared, sometimes I still am. Some answers, I just had to admit to myself, we just don't have. So, I realized that I was more an existentialist/Buddhist than a Christian.

I am sure you will be just fine with whatever changes come your way. You just need to do what is best and right for you.

33. I worked last night (7pm-7am), so circadian screwiness, but...
I don't have to work until next Friday night though, so I'll be more than ok. I've got a couple more days with my kiddos, then they get to go camping with their dad and I get 3, yes 3 days with my dude this week. :bounce:
