Why does Caller ID not exist on TV?
And what about *69? My mom even has caller ID, and she can't even use her answering machine!

1. Our caller ID shows up on our TV because we have DISH satellite.
There is a setting for it.

10. I saw a mention of Caller ID on "Law and Order" just last night...
...and it was a rerun.

It's there when the writer needs it for the plot...and Not there where it's either irrelevant to the plot, or its presence is required to advance the plot.

It's a tool...nothing more...and not everyone chooses to have it around.

11. I have caller ID, but I forget about it a lot
since the phone with the caller ID is in the other room.

plot device, in other words.
