Where is Bush's Petronius?
Every great tyrant has a great satirist undermining his efforts to take over a city, a state, a nation or even a world. Nero had Petronius Arbiter, Augustus had Juvenal ("Bread and circuses"), Boss Tweed had Thomas Nast, etc.

Where is Bush's satirist? There is none. Maureen Dowd hasn't done enough damage to the Bushies, even with her byline and BUSHWORLD. Seymour Hersh has done more to harm BushCo than Dowd but he's not very funny.

And you would think with all the liberal blogging wits out there, someone would've stepped up to the plate. So, the question stands: Where's that vitriolic wit that every tyrant needs to take him down a notch?

4. Michael Moore has damned Bush
immeasurably but not enough to topple him from power. Plus, Moore is more of a wry author and filmmaker but he's hardly the funniest liberal I've ever read. That honor belongs to two guys: The Rude Pundit and Driftglass. if they were given bylines, I'm sure they could d the job.

5. Molly Ivins
is very good, and one of the handful of journalists whom I trust to give us the straight skinny. But is she satirical enough to topple Bush?

I'm actually starting to think that satire is failing society for the first time in literary/political history.

3. Wow! He's 2 great Christs in one!
He's both Christ and Anti-Christ! He parodies himself.

It all makes sense now. For example, all those times he says one thing, then does another? Totally explained!

Brilliant!

(This was in reponse to the first reply, btw.)
