5. Cool!
Good way to get a username.

I have seen "what kind of pet?" do you have threads, but not a general "do you have a pet?" thread.

18. I currently list half a dog and grudgingly half a cat as joint assets
when the decree is issued in a couple of months, they'll both go be my ex's pets.

I'll be getting a new puppy! Yippee!

What kind should I get?

20. 1 Desert Tortoise
Gopherus Berlandieri, the Texas Desert Tortoise, slightly smaller than the California Desert Tortoise. I found it wandering around on the street in my housing tract near the beach in California and it was obviously some pet that escaped. It virtually has the run of my entire house and the back yard. For a reptile, it's an intelligent and affectionate pet that comes to me when it's hungry and seems to know the words for lettuce, melon, and brocolli. It also occasionally makes little squeaking noises in its throat. It also seems to have learned that I like it to do its morning business on a brown paper bag and not on the rug. These are great pets but can be delicate. As I'm near the beach and it's always cool and breezy, this tortoise often gets head colds and I then have to keep it inside for day. Also last year, it stopped eating and nearly died. I took it to the vet and found out it had a gigantic bladder stone, a problem that tortoises seem to develop as they age. This stone was so large I had to take it to the number one turtle expert on the West Coast. The surgery alone cost me over $2000, but it was worth it. This is a photo of this kind of tortoise, but not my own.

His name is Marat, after Marat Safin. For those of you who don't know who that is, he is a tennis player. In fact, he was just voted sexiest male player this year.

34. Not anymore but I'm thinking about it
My cat Stevie died and it took me a long time to even want another cat. She was my best friend which I have been told is pathetic but... unconditional love, baby, unconditional love.

Here's Stevie:

There's this Siamese kitten who looks like a sweetie and a couple of rottweiler puppies who I know are lovehounds, and a little doberman bitch and an anaconda who are both beauties. So it's time again, but I've got to be careful or I'll end with all of them :)

Khash.
