sorry, but i married this english guy, and i learned some stuff about beer and how we americans drink it...

the reason we like ice cold beer is because the coldness cancels the fact that there is no flavor or body to the beers we drink (bud, miller, michelob, etc).

good beer, like guiness (altho it is too strong for me) should be chilled but not icy. bass ale, my favorite english beer you can buy in america gets the cellar treatment. if i put it in the fridge and get it too chilled it loses it's flavor.

try cooling but not icing the guiness. i'll bet you'll find it a lot tastier! (if not, try the same with bass ale ;-) )
