What is your guilty pleasure?
Besides DU. :)

Mine is pro wrestling. I know it isn't real. I know as an intellectual person I shouldn't watch it. I know I'm 30 now, and I should be an adult. But, damn, if it isn't the most entertaining thing ever. I don't have cable so I only get to watch Smackdown on Thursdays on UPN, but I, literally, schedule my whole week around the two hours it is on. I won't ever go out and do anything on a Thursday. If JFK was resurrected and came to Tucson to speak and I was invited, I may decline just so I could watch Smackdown. I make a big meal and everything just for the occasion.

I am one odd duck I'll tell you that. I have the great ability to sit down and read something like a book about policy or a Pulitzer winning novel and then switch over and watch Pro wrestling a minute later. :)

They were good, but everyone trying to imitate them sucked. Listen to Jive Talkin', then listen to the Village People, and you will hear the difference.

13. A few.
Early mornings with my DU friends when I probably ought to be doing something else but I rationalize it with "Hey, it's still dark outside!"

Nice fountain pens and good hemp- or cotton-based paper.

One pair of sandals handmade in Sardinia that I really couldn't afford when I bought them, but they're almost as comfy as my mocs.

Good books in hardcover.

About the Manolos: I know, I know, but I LOVE them. Really love them. I have about 8 pairs now *hangs head in shame*. Men have no idea what a good 4 inch stiletto can do for a girl's legs!

Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 01:25 AM by friesianrider
My mother has quite literally had me riding since I was old enough to sit up straight in the saddle (and before that, she carried me while she rode). Since then have done just about everything from hunt seat to dressage to eventing to western to gaming...can't imagine life without at least some acreage and my horses. I'm the ultimate contradiction: a girl who loves to wear her Manolos and still finds doing stalls enjoyable!

40. I'm moving back to MT
Partly because I miss the openness of it all. I miss not seeing fields of grain, horses and cows. I like the contradiction though. I'm the sort of guy who might write a poem then go out and jump on a horse of something and help round up some cows ten minutes later. Although, I've been gone so long living in a few different cities that I haven't rode a horse in years. One of my brothers regularly Team Ropes still though. I can't wait to get back and do some of the stuff of my youth.

So do you compete alot still?

44. Competitions
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 01:31 AM by friesianrider
Yes, I have a new Friesian gelding (the left wheeler and single horse below) and we've been doing dressage and driving. He'd previously only competed in a four-in-hand, so I've been struggling to give him the confidence to drive as a single (he's doing well!).

In dressage, we're training 3rd level, showing 2nd. If he gets much more advanced though, I'll be out of HIS league and need to get someone else to ride him!

Most often tangy-sweet fruit flavored kind. Sweet-Tarts, Nerds, Tart-n-Tinys, Shock-Tarts, Sour Gummy Worms, sour Jelly-Bellys, Starburst, etc. Right around "that time of the month" I'll get a hankering for chocolate but normally I prefer the other kind of candy.
