What book are you?
http://bluepyramid.org/ia/bquiz.htm

Here's me:

You're The Giver!
by Lois Lowry
While you grew up with a sheltered childhood, you're pretty sure everyone around you is even more sheltered. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, you were tapped on the shoulder and transported to the real world. This made you horrified by your prior upbringing and now you're tormented by how to reconcile these two lives. Ultimately, the struggle comes down to that old free will issue. Choose wisely.

You're Ulysses!

Most people are convinced that you don't make any sense, but compared to what else you could say, what you're saying now makes tons of sense. What people do understand about you is your vulgarity, which has convinced people that you are at once brilliant and repugnant. Meanwhile you are content to wander around aimlessly, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. What you see is vast, almost limitless, and brings you additional fame. When no one is looking, you dream of being a Greek folk hero.

3. I'm Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 06:16 AM by MissHoneychurch

You simply don't know what to believe, but you're willing to try anything once. Western values, Eastern values, hedonism and minimalism, you've spent some time in every camp. But you still don't have any idea what camp you belong in.
This makes you an individualist of the highest order, but also really lonely. It's time to chill out under a tree. And realize that at least you believe in ferries.

Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 06:30 AM by BlondieK143
"After years of listening to other peoples' lies, you decided you've had enough. Now you're out to tell it like it is, with all the gory details and nothing left out. Instead of respecting leaders, you want to know what the common people have to offer. But this revolution still has a long way to go, and you're not against making a little profit while you wait. Honesty is your best policy."

You're Lolita!
by Vladimir Nabokov
Considered by most to be depraved and immoral, you are obsessed with sex. What really tantalizes you is that which deviates from societal standards in every way, though you admit that this probably isn't the best and you're not sure what causes this desire. Nonetheless, you've done some pretty nefarious things in your life, and probably gotten caught for them. The names have been changed, but the problems are real. Please stay away from children.

Except, I'm not Humbert....I'm Lo-lee-ta! :bounce:

by Mark Twain
With an affinity for floating down the river, you see things in black and white. The world is strange and new to you and the more you learn about it, the less it makes sense. You probably speak with an accent and others have a hard time understanding you and an even harder time taking you seriously. Nevertheless, your adventurous spirit is admirable. You really like straw hats.

You're I, Robot!
by Isaac Asimov
While you have established a code of conduct for many generations to follow, your demeanor is rather cold and calculating. Brought up to serve humans, you have promised never to harm them, to follow orders, and to protect yourself. Living up to this code has proved challenging and sometimes even drives you mad. If you were a type of paper, you would be pulp.

Anyway, you've been telling people about free love and relaxing like it's some radical idea. Most of them want you to go back to the '60's (or Mars), but others are in your groove. Grok on!

Here is my first one.

http://acorngathering.gq.nu/

I am a Creative Writing/Political Science major at the University of Arizona. I also have a Video Production degree from the Art Institute of Seattle. I love to write. It's my passion in life. I used to be an athlete, I'm heavy into political stuff, but nothing makes me happier than writing. I need to do more of it though. I procrastinate a lot.

So do you write much right now? I wouldn't mind checking out some of your stuff if you're looking to show some off. Or an objective eye.

79. I'm writing mostly for school right now.
I have a story/book whatever you want to call it that I've been messing with for years. I'm starting to feel like I should scrub it and start over. I started writing it when I was 16 (25 now) and the whole tone changes as I get older which muddies things up. I don't know.

I do have a paper due next week on any topic of my choice which I haven't started yet. You could read that one. As for editing, I'm still learning. My favorite prof says that sometimes I try to keep too much of the author's original voice in the text :wtf: He makes it sound like I should be cutting it up more. But then the editing exercises he brings in are papers written by his middle school age kids

Too much of the author's original voice? Never heard that one before. It depends on how well or not well written the draft is too, so maybe he just wants you to totally rip everything up on it. Your eye will get better with practice.

You're Les Miserables! One of the best known people in your community, you have become something of a phenomenon. People have sung about you, danced in your honor, created all manner of art in your name. And yet your story is one of failure and despair, with a few brief exceptions. A hopeless romantic, you'll never stop hoping that more good will come from your failings than is ever possible. Beware detectives and prison guards bearing vendettas.

i tried to get 'i robot' yet failed in the endeavor...now i'm: les miserables

63. I used to have to sing "Bring Him Home" in Choir
I'm the only person you'll ever meet who rode bulls and sang in choir. I am a dichotomy in my own self.

That is a great musical, never read the book though, but it has to be great.

"God on high, hear my prayer, he is young......."

You sing, too? :wow:

Les Mis was the first and only play I've seen on Broadway. And in high school (this is so embarrassing, and I don't know why I'm typing it) my friends and I used to go around singing "On My Own" like silly little girls.

76. On My Own is a fun song though
I sing a little. Not very good. I'm pretty tone deaf. I can do some solid karaoke and sound pretty good, but I'm mainly good at belting out tunes in the shower.

I was in chorus in high school, but I'm no good either. I'm a shower/car girl myself.

86. karaoke can be fun
It's such a nerd thing to do though. Last time I sang karaoke was years ago. A gay guy tried to pick me up after that, lol. He squeezed out this woman who was flirting with me to say he liked my singing and wanted to by me a beer. It took me about 3 free beers before I caught on to what he was up to, lol.

You're One Hundred Years of Solitude!

by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Lonely and struggling, you've been around for a very long time.
Conflict has filled most of your life and torn apart nearly everyone you know. Yet there
is something majestic and even epic about your presence in the world. You love life all
the more for having seen its decimation. After all, it takes a village.

80. here's my 'me-book' for the day ahead ~
You're Babar the King! by Jean de Brunhoff Though your life has been filled with struggle and sadness of late, you're personally doing quite well for yourself. All this success brings responsibility, though, and should not be taken lightly. Life has turned from war to peace, from damage to reconstruction, and this brings a bright new hope for everyone you know. These hopeful people look to you for guidance, and your best advice to them is to watch out for snakes. You're quite fond of the name "Celeste".

ps, i am quite fond of the name: Celeste, as it turns out

You're Alice's Adventures in Wonderland!
by Lewis Carroll
After stumbling down the wrong turn in life, you've had your mind opened to a number of strange and curious things. As life grows curiouser and curiouser, you have to ask yourself what's real and what's the picture of illusion. Little is coming to your aid in discerning fantasy from fact, but the line between them is so blurry that it's starting not to matter. Be careful around rabbit holes and those who smile to much, and just avoid hat shops altogether.

89. The Guns of August
You're The Guns of August!
by Barbara Tuchman
Though you're interested in war, what you really want to know is what causes war. You're out to expose imperialism, militarism, and nationalism for what they really are. Nevertheless, you're always living in the past and have a hard time dealing with what's going on today. You're also far more focused on Europe than anywhere else in the world. A fitting motto for you might be "Guns do kill, but so can diplomats."

You're A Prayer for Owen Meany!
by John Irving
Despite humble and perhaps literally small beginnings, you inspire faith in almost everyone you know. You are an agent of higher powers, and you manifest this fact in mysterious and loud ways. A sense of destiny pervades your every waking moment, and you prepare with great detail for destiny fulfilled. When you speak, IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS!

since I posted a fragment of this mashed-up with misunderestimator's name a few weeks back, though the description isn't quite of me (close, but not touching):

Though you are very short and often overshadowed, your voice is poetic
and lyrical. Dark and brooding, you see the world as a hopeless effort of people trying to impress other people. Though you make reference to almost everything, you've really heard enough about Michelangelo. You measure out your life with coffee spoons.

You're Catch-22!
by Joseph Heller
Incredibly witty and funny, you have a taste for irony in all that you see. It seems that life has put you in perpetually untenable situations, and your sense of humor is all that gets you through them. These experiences have also made you an ardent pacifist, though you present your message with tongue sewn into cheek. You could coin a phrase that replaces the word "paradox" for millions of people.

You're Watership Down!
by Richard Adams
Though many think of you as a bit young, even childish, you're actually incredibly deep and complex. You show people the need to rethink their assumptions, and confront them on everything from how they think to where they build their houses. You might be one of the greatest people of all time. You'd be recognized as such if you weren't always talking about talking rabbits.

You're Ulysses!
by James Joyce
Most people are convinced that you don't make any sense, but compared to what else you could say, what you're saying now makes tons of sense. What people do understand about you is your vulgarity, which has convinced people that you are at once brilliant and repugnant. Meanwhile you are content to wander around aimlessly, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. What you see is vast, almost limitless, and brings you additional fame. When no one is looking, you dream of being a Greek folk hero.
