So tell me about your day
Mine was work, went grocery shopping with Beastman, he had me laughing so hard I was in tears. Now I'm home and having a icey beverage and going to think about a swim...You?

1. Slow day so far
Sent out some Ebay sales, cooking dinner right now. The Prophetess has picked up a headache, so she's napping right now. Later on I'm going to work on my novel some more.
Yesterday we cooked out and went swimming. Much more fun.

9. It's a science fiction horror story
I've had it in my head for years now, and I decided to put it on paper because working for the government sucks.

3. I had a great day
Went to work. Didn't feel like being there (I manage the wine and liquor department in a grocery store). One of the things that's been going on is that upper management (meaning those who've never worked in a store but sit around coming up with ideas to make our lives more difficult) have decreed that the beer displays we place in front of the beer cooler have to follow a rigid (and stupid) schematic. I've been wrestling with the guys who merchandise the beer ever since (they don't work for the store but for the beer companies).

So today, I was talking about it to the boss and suggested putting wooden platforms down to clearly delineate where they can put their beer and he let me leave at lunchtime so I could go shop at Home Depot for the supplies. I got paid for a full 8 hours, got to go to Home Depot which I enjoy and got reimbursed for all the materials.

So it was a good day.

6. that's good

It's scary how much research they put into how grocery stores are design to coax us to buy crap:scared:

8. And so much of it is wrong
They put so much into things like lighting and shelving and product placement but they keep screwing the employees to the point that they no longer get the quality of employees that they used to.

Our store doesn't have any better products than any other store. The prices are no better (and are often higher). Consistently what customers tell me is that they shop there because of the employees - because we're friendly and knowledgable and they like us. And the company is losing us in droves.

Go figure.

15. Was up all night working. Then I had to work until noon. Then I came home
and in my zombie like state, fed my neighbor's dog (they're on vacation) and my dogs, and ordered a take out pizza (sausage/mush/onion).

I'm eating the pizza now with some black cherry soda and gonna crawl into bed in a minute.

17. Mine kinda sucked
I came off a rough yesterday-- first meeting with divorce lawyer, signed lease on new apartment, but couldn't get the courage up to go to my old marital house. Seriously thought about hurting myself last night but kept things in check.

Today, I slept until 11, and telecommuted to work for a few hours. Got into a fight with my mother/roommate. Now I'm listening to the Stooges really fscking loud. It's times like this that I want to take another drink, but I know that would kill me, so I don't.

Today is not my best day by far. But tomorrow WILL BE BETTER.

Now I have to go babysit my hug thread. Here's a spare in case you need one

:D

19. Sounds nice
Got up early and took hubby to the airport for what was supposed to be a weekend trip to Pittsburgh to attend to a legal matter. Came back, watched some London coverage and tried to study for next week's bar exam. Played with the kitties. Have to go back to the airport to pick him up at 10:45 because the other party didn't show up today. SHAZBOT!!

20. I've had a nice day! Got up relatively late (newly retired!), had a
minimal breakfast, read the paper, went to an early lunch w/my husband; then online and talking to friends; then out to the weekly Farmer's Market, and the meat market too...home, back online! Thinking about a nap which would necessitate something different for dinner...Gotta decide soon! Too much fun here at DU!

And I still have my evening to get through, lol! One guess as to where I'll be!

24. Ok...
This was my Friday. I woke up next to my boyfriend and I was tired, but I had to pick up my kids at their dad's and take them to day camp. Came home, then _____, showered, then FF went with me on an errand to the grocery store, then I took him out for Thai food for lunch, back to my place for awhile, then we picked up the kids and went to the playground. Back to my place, but this time, we played cards with the kids and then went out to eat. Then back to my place again and played cards more, watched TV and just about everyone talked to FF, Jr. on the phone. I put the kids to bed, happily spent more time with my sweet and wonderful boyfriend, then fell asleep in his arms yet again. I could get used to days like this.
