4. I've got a book
autographed by the author, William Rivers Pitt. He spelled my name wrong. ;)

I'm waiting for John Conyers to send an autographed copy of What Went Wrong in Ohio. I hear he had lots of takers so I'm not expecting it any time soon.

Oh, and when I came home yesterday, I found a book called Staying Afloat on my counter autographed by three DUers who had stayed at my place this weekend. Well, I think it was just one of them (same writing) and it really isn't a book written by any of them (so it stretches the idea of autograph) but it is a pretty cool book. I might have my next door neighbors autograph it as well since it turns out they were interviewed for it. I'm guessing the book was written before the repaint as there was no mention of the little pink atrocity next door.

Ah, but I babble. It is late.

12. A menu from Micky Mantle's Restaurant.........
signed by he and Billy Martin. We were having an early dinner there one afternoon and they cam down and sat right next to us. Being a Yankees fan since birth, this was QUITE exciting to me.
I have several autographed copies of Carl Hiaasen's books.
A Jerry Jeff Walker autograph on a cocktail napkin. A Leon Russell autograph on a cocktail napkin.
And the best one I own, an original "Golden Ticket" from the Willy Wonka movie with a photograph of them on the set, signed by Gene Wilder and all of the kids in the movie. On the back are pictures of the kids as they looked grown up in 1998 when the pictures were taken and what part they played (you'd never recognize them now). I bought it for my daughter as a gift several years ago, she being the biggest Willy Wonka fan, ever. I'm sure I could sell it now that the "new" Wonka movie is out and fetch a fantastic price for it, but how many people have an actual "Golden Ticket" to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory? That will stay in the family forever.

64. I have a bunch of stuff, including a Bible autographed by Heston!
I work in the movies, so I have lots of memorabilia, some of it signed... but it has to be a particularly "interesting" celeb for me to ask for a signature.

I have Martin Sheen, Meatloaf, Udo Kier, Lance Hendriksen, Christopher Walken, the original line-up of Echo and the Bunnymen, Stella Stevens, Cab Calloway, Diamanda Galas, Lemmy, Malcolm McDowall, Heston, Jaz Coleman (from Killing Joke), George Takei (actually, my ex got that one, somehow), Martin Landau, Marky Ramone, Wesley Snipes (I got that one for a friend, and she's yet to pick it up; it's a signed DVD of Blade II)... I think that's it.

First, I have an autograph from Irving R. Levine, a newsman from the 70's for NBC (from back when newsmen reported the news).
Second, I have a signed copy of "The Exception to the Rules" by Amy Goodman.
Oops - I forgot that the Prophetess and I have a "signed" copy of a Blue Man CD (it's been kissed in blue paint by one of the performers after a show we saw in Vegas in March).
I used to have a signed CD from Victor Wooten, the bass player with the Flecktones, but I made the mistake of loaning it out and now it is gone forever.

92. I have a letter signed by Cecil B. DeMille on "Ten Commandments"
letter head. I work at a movie studio and we have a vault where we store tapes and film. I was down there one day and saw this pile of boxes. I asked someone what the boxes were and they said it was trash. Anyhow, one of the boxes caught my eye as it was full of files. I started browsing through them and found out that this box had belonged to the head of publicity from the mid 1940's to early 1960's. It was full of notes and letters that he had received from Joan Crawford, Ed Sullivan, Jack Warner, to name a few. I took everything that was there to our on lot museum the next day and they couldn't believe what I found. I discovered the Cecil B. DeMille later and I still have it.
