Aquifer's....do any other cities depend on one for water?

We have the Edwards Aquifer under San Antonio. We have an aquifer report with the weather report. When it rains, the aquifer fills up. When in drought, it drops, and we go into water restrictions. Is there any other major city that depends on one?

usually supplemented with reservoirs and so on, but an aquifer is the source of ground water for wells and so on...it's a layer of porous rock (or gravel and sand, depending on the local geology) that absorbs water from precipitation.

6. Not as big, but back when I lived in Champaign-Urbana, IL

We were served by the Mahomet Aquifer. Apparently, it is quite large and clean. It serves most of east central Illinois.
