How many is "several"?

How many is "a bunch"?

Few = 3
Several = 4 or 6-7
Bunch = 5 ("These bunches of five" means your two hands)
Lot (or a Score) = 10

5. A score is 20...
not 10.

Maybe you mean a gross (12).

I knew that. Damned brainfart. I was thinking "great gross" (1728)= "gross" (144), and gross=12, for some reason.

8. Yes, I mismeasured a score
Thanks. But isn't a gross 144 (12 x 12)?

3. A few is at least one more than a couple.

Several begins at about 5.

A bunch is 10 or more.

A lot depends upon its context.

e.g. 20 is not a lot of grapes, but it is if all of them are in your mouth.

4. not during sex
at least in my experience

couple = 2 (when used as a noun)
few = 3 or 4
several = 4 to 6
bunch = 5 to 25, unless it's a bunch of grapes, then it's, well, a bunch
lot = many, not easily countable

10. This is how I always considered it:
couple = 2 of course

few = 3-5

several = 6-10

a bunch = 11-20

a lot = 21-whatever

11. A couple is two
Although I have heard it used very loosely to mean more. The other terms you mention really don't have a technically precise meaning. As Judge Wapner would say if you used them, "I don't know what you mean."
