Need computer speaker help!

Hey, all1

About 2 weeks ago, I installed Half-life the game. Now, I notice that all my playbacks of MP3s on Winamp are all fuzzed out as if I was trying to put too much bass through the speakers.

Is there something I should be checking on to make sure the game did not screw with my sound settings?

1. DirectX?

Some games want to install DirectX.
It might have overwritten a newer version.
Try installing the newest version from MS.

Other than that, try reinstalling your sound drivers.

Double-check your soundcard properties settings just to make certain.
