4. I lift weights.
4 days a week. I've been doing it long enough now that it is part of my life. If I skip a workout I am completely guilt ridden.

7. Bike, hike, volleyball. To do list: running
I want to start running again on a semi-regular basis, but I find doing it difficult and boring so it is hard to get started. But I used to like running road races and would like to do that again. Alas, much of the fun for me was getting a good time, and to do that these days, I'm going to need to put in some major training.

Meanwhile I bike and hike periodically, and play on a volleyball team in both the winter and the summer (alas, not in the fall). The way I play volleyball, it definitely counts as exercise. :D

8. Cycling
about 100-125 miles a week. Did three centuries this season. Also lift weights. When I need a change, I'll roller blade. Hiking is good, too.

However, since I live in the Chicago area, I'm going to have to find something to tide me over once the snow and cold hits.

13. cross-country skiing?
Probably not so practical an idea in Chicago, now that I think of it. Not quite enough snow, most of the time, as I remember. And perhaps a shortage of convenient locations.

But when I lived in Southern California, I tried to get into cross-country skiing (in the mountains, of course) and loved it, what little I was able to do. I wish I had been able to continue and actually get somewhat skilled at it, but my life travels soon took me to Hawaii and later to Texas, where cross-country skiing is an extremely exotic pursuit. ;-)

9. I run, including charity marathons, I rock climb
and I have scaled glacier-covered mountains. Because it was there. I do some weightlifting every week, but in general I find it a little dull as activity.

14. Mount Rainier, by chance?
Tres cool, that scaling glacier-covered mountains thing.

I'd like to do that someday. I backpacked up to the climbing base camp on the south side of Rainier back in 1988. But I had to stop there, as I had no technical experience, equipment, or skills. Spectacular place, nonetheless!

:D

11. I lift, want to add yoga
Weight-lifting has made me less flexible than I had been. My body tells me that yoga or something close to it, is a good thing for me to add. I don't like cardio, but would walk more if my house was not the only one with lots of trees, etc. to look at, and if I could arrange for a cloud to follow me around!
