Does anyone know where I can get some Gelato in central NJ?
I had some after dinner the other night when I was in Vegas and I can't even verbalize how good that stuff was, it was damn near orgasmic and now I am seriously craving some. The crappy ice cream in my freezer will not quell my craving and I need a place to get my fix. A preliminary google search says that there is a shop in Philly, I don't want to drive into Philly for some but if push came to shove I will have to.

So someone please tell me about a good gelato place near me!

1. Central Texas, yes. Central NJ, no.
Gelato is food of the gods.

2. I honestly don't know where this food has been all my life
I feel cheated that I went 21 years on this planet without ever eating some...now I feel as if I must make up for lost time. I don't understand why there isn't a gelato stand on every street corner...pfft I turn my nose up at regular ice cream now!

3. Try the Scotch Plains area

I haven't lived in Central NJ since 1990, but I recall Scotch Plains had a lot of Italian residents (including my former in-laws).

Also I'll bet The Frog & the Peach, a very fancy restaurant in New Brunswick, offers it sometimes.

Also, have you ever tried Indian ice cream? Heavenly! We have Indian-Asian groceries in our area (Rockville, MD) that sell it. Edison NJ has a very large Indian community so you'll probably find places there that sell it.
