Assistant Principal Charged With Giving Son Answers To State Exam
<snip>

NEW YORK -- An assistant principal at a Long Island high school was arraigned Monday on charges he gave his son the answers to a state exam on world history.

Isben Jeudy, 40, was charged with official misconduct and released without bail after pleading not guilty.

Officials said Jeudy was responsible for keeping the questions and answers to the year-end Board of Regents exam secure as assistant principal at Jericho High School.

Last Tuesday, an official at a high school in Elwood -- about 20 miles east of Jericho -- discovered that Jeudy's son, Jerrell Jeudy, 16, had blue writing on his hand while taking the exam, officials said. The writing turned out to be the answers to about 35 multiple-choice questions, authorities said.

Elwood officials then contacted the superintendent of the Jericho schools, who found that the answer key, which was not supposed to be opened until the exam was over, had already been unsealed.

Jeudy had already submitted his resignation as vice principal to take a principal's job in another school district, in Uniondale. That district said it will consult with its legal counsel about Jeudy's fate.

A call to Jeudy's attorney was not immediately returned.

It was not clear what action, if any, would be taken against his son. A call to the Elwood superintendent was not immediately returned.

1. Nice!
We couldn't possibly have the educator encouraging his son to do it the right way! :eyes:
