Are you a Steven King fan?
If so- what is your favorite book? And have you ever liked a movie adapted from one of Steven's books AS MUCH AS the original book itself?

I like him alot- I even have moments where I'll see something & say, "Whoa, that was VERY Steven King". For example- the little boy scout that was lost in the woods for 3 days made me immediately think of a Steven King type treatment. (like the girl who loved tom gordon)

1. Yes.
The Dark Tower series. All 7 books, now that King's revised the first one.

I thought "The Shawshank Redemption" was at least a fair fight for King's novella.

Shawshank was awesome. I also liked Misery, Firestarter & Christine. Cujo was good. The original Shining was pretty good too. The Green Mile was ok.

I didn't like- Salems Lot, It, Dreamcatcher, Needful Things, Thinner....

2. Firestarter, with 'Salem's Lot a close second. Dead Zone, Shining

4. His "toilet humor" rubs me the wrong way.
It's like a 13 year old boy is writing parts of his books, and it is seemingly impossible to ignore (because there's so much of it).

5. The first Stephen King book I read was "Eyes of the Dragon"
Loved his work ever since. Sadly, the T.V movie adaptations have been lousy. What I really want to see is a movie based on the Dark Tower series (The Gunslinger) with, you guessed it, Dylan McDermott as Roland. Look at the guy....if you read these books, he was MADE for this part.
