Official Detroit Pistons Consolation Thread
Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 11:01 PM by ih8thegop

Hey, San Antonio might have an NBA title, but Detroit has John Conyers!

If you have a conspiracy theory as to why the other team won, please post it in this thread.

3. Being a Pacers fan
I probably ought to stay quiet ;-)

But I was in Detroit during the second half of the bad-boy championships ... so generally have been pretty much rooting for the Pistons over the years...

4. Look at it this way
At least nobody will be subjected to that Chimp-loving ass, Al Michaels, if only for a few months.

10. Hi From Jackson!
:hi:

What brings you to our neck of the woods? Hopefully not a bunch of cars wasting gasoline by driving really fast in an oval.

11. I'm from Kalamazoo.
My dad moved to Adrian a couple of years ago when he became an unemployment statistic and couldn't find work locally. I've not seen his new house or area until now.

I'm on vacation - supposedly decompressing from an extreme amount of stress in WA, and a deep need to be around old friends.

First, I'm upset about some bullshit between my best friend and step-sister that I won't go into - but at this moment I can't imagine my relationship with either of them being the same again - and second, my other friend lost her 3 year old daughter in a car crash 2 nights ago - and I did not get over to see her before it happened. I saw her for the first time in a couple of years lying in a hospital bed -crying because her daughter is dead.

The icing on the fucking cake (so far - there's always tomorrow!) is the Pistons losing. I was REALLY hoping they'd win - but apparantly they were into giving gifts - because the Spurs totally shouldn't have won that game.

Sucks.

12. It could be much, much worse Pistons fans.
Hold your heads high. You've got a great team that you can be proud of. Unlike some of us poor souls:

Or our poor comrades in Southern California who won't see their team in the playoffs for another decade:

14. Proud of the Pistons
They showed alot of heart. Almost pulled it off and Ben was awesome. Went to game three at the Palace and I'll never forget his steal and dunk to start the game. Spurs are a good team. It's a small consolation that we had a great ride and at least we didn't lose to some asshole like Kobe.

16. I might not care much about B- Ball... but I hate to see a TX team win.
Especially against such a respectable northern democratic stronghold as Detroit.

I wouldn't dream of going so far as to mess with Texas. That would be out of line.

21. Hey don't hate
they both put up a great game. Props to both teams!!!

It took 7 games to decide the champions. Now that is real basketball. something we have not seen in a long time.

Pistons should be nothing but proud!!

27. I have a lot of respect for Larry Brown and the Pistons.
I'm obviously happy my team won, but I would have been ok with the Pistons winning after the initial disappointment passed. Larry was the coach in San Antonio for a few years, and helped make the organization what it is today. I hope he regains full health and returns to coaching.
