Just for the record, Molly Ivins rocks even more in person than in writing
and I didn't think that was possible.

God, she told the best fucking stories ever. I've never laughed so hard. And who knew she had such.....colorful language? Now that's a person I'd love to have about 15 beers with and pick her brain.

I loved her before, loved her even more now. Her story about how two republican state senators were told by a Dem in Congress that the bailiff should remand them to custody because "it's illegal for a prick to touch an asshole in Texas" (they were hugging) nearly had me falling out of my chair.

3. She's a national tresure
I was once in the audience when, among others, she and Ann Richards were on a panel. I don't even remember now what the topic was.

They were hilarious. I wanna be either of them when I grow up.

5. That last one is one of my favorite Molly stories

Molly would probably enjoy having a beer (or two or three...) with you as well as evidenced by the cover of one of her essay collections:

9. Democracy Fest in Austin this weekend.
It was so great. Howard Dean was there, too. His speech was great, but that's kind of a silly thing to say, since I've never seen or heard him give a bad one.

11. How did she look?
I heard somewhere that she's been ill lately.

I watched part of that meeting in Austin on C-Span and I didn't see her. It looked like a lot of fun.

12. She looked fine.
Keeping in mind I've never seen her in person. But she had glasses on and her hair wasn't as curly as I've seen in pictures.

But her voice was very strong and resonant and she didn't look like she felt sick at all.
