I didn't even finish watching it. I thought it was supposed to be really popular. Anybody else see it? Am I the only one who founds it sleep-inducing?

1. I felt that way about Harry Potter
Both the books and the movies. I thought they were very pedestrian at best.

Haven't seen Lemony Snicket so I have no opinion on that one.

2. My husband hated it
I thought that it was somewhat interesting. I hadn't read any of the books. I suppose that it makes a difference that it based off a series. Although the end stated some good themes, I found it unsatisfying. Being a series though, I suppose that is understadable.

3. I give it a "C".
The kids were ok but the adults were pretty lame. Why in the world was Dustin Hoffman in it?

4. I really enjoyed the books, but the movie does not do them justice.
Yet again, Hollywood in its infinite wisdom must "fix" things by changing the plot and changing the ending. Maddening. If I hadn't read the books I probably would have thought the movie was just plain weird.

5. I kept hearing Jude Law's voice
so that kept me interested to some extent. *swoon*

6. My daughter loved the books and the movie
I could not stand the premise and was near tears through the entire movie. I could not imagine reading the whole series!

8. The books are much better.
Much darker and funnier. Try them out.
