Bloody hell. I've only been in the basement once during a tornado. It cut through town 4 miles away -- an F5 -- but thankfully missed us. All we had was a broken window and some punched siding. The hailstones were the size of baseballs.

7. I am sure he's ok. They are having the regional college games

here in Lincoln. A lot of people are probably a little freaked at the stadium. These kinda storms do not worry my hubby.

tornados are nothing to take lightly....If your hubby is outside he has a good chance of seeing severe weather develop and can seek shelter.

16. You sure do. I use to storm chase with my brother.

He is 8 years older than me & while he was in college & I was in Jr. high he would pick my up to chase storms. It would make my mom so mad.

17. I never got to chase.

But I was a weather spotter for awhile. We had pagers that would go off when we were needed. They would announce our positions and we would have to go to the spot and watch the sky. Once I was standing way out in the middle of nowhere and I caught sight of the wall. Then the spicket starts to come out of the damn wall and all I could think was Crap! There is nothing here and I don't think I'll make it to a shelter in time.
It is an adrenaline rush that I really miss. The only reason that I don't do it anymore is because of babysitting issues for my daughter. Otherwise, I would still be out there.

18. As scary as it is there is an incredible rush seeing

Mother Nature's fury.
I remember watching a tornado coming down the street at us & my grandparent yelling a me to get down to the basement.
I was hypnotized by it's destructive beauty.

19. You can get stuck right to the spot when you see one

sometimes. I have watched as people almost become paralyzed by them. It's so weird to explain to someone who has never been really close to one.
All of the storm spotting that I did never got me as close to one as I got in my own backyard. I watched as one hit my backfield a few years ago. It's so weird how loud it is and then everything gets almost quiet-too quiet. That's the only part that really freaks me out.

Usually we have more warning, but last I had heard was chance of showers then BOMB.
