2. It has gotten this bad
Mal-Wort isn't the only store doing this. I try to avoid it and shop at smaller stores, and even they are putting Santas besides pumpkins. The only ones that I haven't seen doing this are the truly mom and pop stores. They tend to have some sense.

I hate going to stores at this time of year, because of the crass commercialism. Christmas has become not a Christian holiday but a holiday to the god of materialism.

5. A Christian Fundie co-worker
has already decorated her home for Christmas. Several other homes in our area are decorated as well. As she puts it, "If we(her church) had our way, Halloween wouldn't be celebrated."

I'm not sure she appreciated my suggestion to dress as Mrs. Claus for the Trick or Treaters.

6. A bunch of years ago, wal-mart tried
Christmas in July. They had everything out. 5 or 6 isles worth. People complained and they took it down in less than a week.

14. I've noticed when the economy is bad,
retailers tend to begin the holiday season a lot earlier.

an early start on decorating every square inch of our trailers er I mean houses with tasteless, chinese made iconry representing a 2000+ year old non-event!

Oh, and the fat white guy in the red suit. He gets the place of honor right over the manger.

18. Liberals and progressives who shop at Walmart-
are putting a pretty low price on their principles. Patronizing them is acknowledging that you approve of their way of doing business.
It's shameful.

19. I don't know
All I know is I don't shop at Wal*Mart, it is actually the closest large store to me but I will walk an extra two blocks to Target, I just won't shop at Wal*Mart.

20. All that Christmas shit has been up at Costo
For a couple of weeks now. Makes me sick. My birthday is October 22 and they NEVER had that crap up before that. Until this year. What's even worse is 2 months of Christmas music blasting away! I get tired of Christmas before Thanksgiving these days. I try to avoid malls at all costs.

23. Who needs individual holidays anyway?
I say it's time to roll everything from Halloween to New Years into one orgy of eating, drinking and shopping. Why shouldn't Santa bring Baby Jesus a jack'o'lantern and a big bag of candy? Makes more sense than the Magi with that myrhh stuff.
