with the Count Basie Orchestra while I finish cleaning my apartment. And I just gotta say it is the tightest live album I've ever heard. They are tighter live than most people could ever hope to be in a studio. Just. Wow.
in small doses. What gets on my nerves is when they talk over each other when they're singing. I know it probably seemed funny at the time...but I buy the albums or videos to hear the music...not to hear Dean Martin talk over Frank or Sammy singing. :shrug:
Absolutely one of the greatest albums of all time.
My dad was a jazz musician (trumpet). When I was a little kid he used to come home late at night from a gig, with one or two of his musician friends. They'd make scrambled eggs, drink scotch and listen to Sinatra At The Sands. Fond memories.
