I'm listening to Sinatra "Live at the Sands"...
with the Count Basie Orchestra while I finish cleaning my apartment. And I just gotta say it is the tightest live album I've ever heard. They are tighter live than most people could ever hope to be in a studio. Just. Wow.

3. Fly Me to the Moon...
was the first piece I ever learned in high school jazz band and when Sinatra sings it I just get so sentimental. :)

I just hit "Luck Be a Lady" and it's hard not to just dance around the apartment. :)

4. In addition to a lot of the Sinatra classics...
it includes some intrumentals by the Basie Orchestra as well. It ROCKS! Basie is GOD!

6. I'm ok with the Rat Pack...
in small doses. What gets on my nerves is when they talk over each other when they're singing. I know it probably seemed funny at the time...but I buy the albums or videos to hear the music...not to hear Dean Martin talk over Frank or Sammy singing.

12. Maybe it's just me...
but there's something about Dean Martin that I just don't get. He seems more sad to me than funny.

14. "How did all these people get in my room?"
Absolutely one of the greatest albums of all time.

My dad was a jazz musician (trumpet). When I was a little kid he used to come home late at night from a gig, with one or two of his musician friends. They'd make scrambled eggs, drink scotch and listen to Sinatra At The Sands. Fond memories.
