I want to buy a tv in the next 4-5 months, payments?
i would like to buy a 23 inch Samsung flat panel tv :-) Nothing overly expensive, about in the $1,000 range. I almost have the money saved up, BUT.I haven't brought anything like a tv before. I'm rebuilding my credit, so should I just pay up front for it, or see if I can get some financing (like $400 down, make payments that take about 6-8 months)?

1. No and Hell No
Just best to buy everything in cash if you need it.

I hope you weren't considering one of those rent-a-center places that overprices everything and charges 30% interest

4. planning for xbox 360 and HDTV
I've seen the Xbox 360 retail kiosk setup online, and the 23 inch monitor will be the one they use. It has the HDMI port, supports 480, 480p, 720 and 1080i formats. And $1100 is a good price for a Samsung LCD.

5. Don't worry about the getting it because on sale now...
it will be on sale again and again for the same or near same price.

I bought a 42" HDTV in December. The sale price has been the same since then. Go to 1 or 2 other stores and find their best prices for the tv, warranty, delivery and other. I got the price of tv and free delivery from one store honored by the store I bought it from plus warranty at lower price and cables.

8. HELL NO
Edited on Fri May-27-05 10:59 PM by LSK
I do just fine with my 20" tv I bought from my sister for $20, on those occasions when I watch a baseball game, cspan or 24.

TV is a waste IMO, and spending $1000 on one is cause for having ones head examined. At least thats my opinion.
