Just got back from the bar with my dad...
he offered to buy me a beer or two so how could I refuse that offer? I downed 3 Sam Adams in just over an hour (yeah we didn't leave the house until 12:45) and I'm feeling a little bit buzzed right now...I guess I can't go drink for drink with the old man after all. Oh well

1. I recently went drinking with
my son and his girlfriend. His girlfriend tried to hang in there with me. Poor girl. I've been told she was hangin' over for 2 days.
My son knew better (been there, done that).

4. Usually I can out-drink my friends
but he has about 100 pounds and 25 more years of experience than me...NO ONE can out drink my dad. I swear he isn't human when it comes to that stuff, and he never gets a hangover (I rarely do too) so I guess it's just good genes

2. Itn't this a great country when you can tip a few w/dad at from 1-2AM
I'll fight for that right any day. The only time I was able to out drink my dad was when he got diabetes when he was about 75. Irish/German, it was in the genes!

Great post!

5. God Bless America!
:toast: I come from a long line of "functional alcoholics" so we hold our booze quite well (on both sides) I have a mixture of Irish and eastern European blood...like I've always said...A family that drinks together, stays together! :P

3. My dad can out-drink me, too
He's 55 and I'm 32, but I can't stand toe to toe with him when it comes to throwing back brewskis. But he's also about 6 inches taller than me and 60 pounds heavier so he does have an advantage in that regard.

6. I've been drunk only once in my life.
The night of December 2nd, 1978 when I turned 18.

Next morning I was so hung over I haven't drank since.

7. wow
that must have been one hell of a night! I've only been hung over once but I was mixing a lot of alcohols that night...but it wasn't anything that a little breakfast at a diner couldn't cure

10. I just don't think drinking is fun anymore.
Especially the memory of that gawdawful hangover.

I've known people who bragged to me about "getting home on autopilot," or passing out in their car, or on the street, they're in AA now.

11. I know what you are saying
I drink in the safety of my own home and usually not more than a six pack. I don't go out and drink unless I have a designated driver and that is next to never.
