Tell me something you're happy about!
I'm having a bummed and frustrating kind of day... Wishing I could just fast-forward to 3 or 4 years from now.

So, tell me something good or happy or exciting in your life right now, please? :)

And beach passes on both the cars, though I rarely go there.

I hope they are doing well! It must be really nice to be out of apartments and into your own place, congrats! Glad your back is in better shape and you can play again, too :)

Thanks, things will get better, it's just a lot of normal life crap... sometimes being a grown-up kinda sucks. And then I remind myself that I have a place to live, food to eat, a family to love, and a job, and I think I should just be quiet :)

25. well, the sandwich itself is simple---just meat and cheese
but there is a dipping Au jus sauce that comes with it. And you dip the sandwich into the au jus sauce. I think it is called the "Steak House Dip" . First time I tried it was today. Usually I get the turkey club or something.

10. I'm happy because it is sunny outside and beautiful.
It's nice and warm. I am happy I woke up this morning, too! Still alive!

And I'm happy that when I was leaving for work, I looked over into the goat pasture to see the young goat who had his horns stuck in the fence. He would have had a terrible day standing there if I had not seen him and freed him!

I am also happy that the man who will start cutting my hay for me on a much better deal than I had before stopped by top finalize that deal yesterday.

Lots positive going on!

I sure hope your day improves. LynzM, cuz the past is gone and the future is not certain. All that really is happening, is happening now!

Sending good vibes your way!

22. Aw, thanks JJ....
That cracked me up! It's nothing big, just the general stuff about being a grown-up...bills, cars, grumpiness about BushCo, etc., and figuring out what I want to do with my life, and what timeline. And having really no clue about how to actually make that decision. I have many things to be thankful for, and sometimes I just need a reminder of the good things in the world!

50. photo challenged
My printer, copier, scanner decided to stop scanning earlier this spring. I'm not sure if I want to replace it because I am thinking more about getting rid of my old cell phone and getting a new one with good photo taking qualities and then downloading directly into the computer.

Have you ever tried doing that?

53. You mean phone to computer?
Or just getting a digital camera? Camera phones tend to be pretty poor quality, if you want pics you'd want to keep for any length of time or display. I'd suggest going with a lower-end digital camera and just downloading direct to your computer!

67. yes, phone to computer
As I was traveling earlier this year I realized that I really do have to upgrade my phone. Two of our friends both have picture phones - one of phones is very bad while the other seems to take crisp and clear shots. I'm trying to cut down on the amount of gear that I have to carry around with me.

The results I've seen on some of the lower-end digital cameras was lousy. I would need a really good recommendation before I buy a digital camera based on the ones I've already seen.

73. Denmark and Germany
I'm currently working as a German teacher in a high school (eh, it pays the bills), but I have a Ph. D. in history and am awaiting a reply from one last application to return to my chosen academic field. One benefit of working in education is that we (the teachers, profs, etc.) get all the same holidays as the students (although we are not paid for it).

I'd love to get a chance to try teaching... I'm planning to go back to school soon to finish my undergrad degrees, one of which is German. I'm not sure that full-time classroom teaching is for me, but it's certainly an avenue I've thought about pursuing. That'd be really cool for you if you get to go back into your field, best wishes with that! Enjoy your trip... where in Germany are you headed?

56. I am happy
because I quit smoking (again). I have been smoke free for a week today.

I am happy because it is FINALLY warming up this week in Oregon.

I am un-happy because I have to go to Sweden on Sunday. It finally warms up here and I have to go somewhere "not so warm".

I am happy because the weekend was a really good, productive and fun one filled with shopping (and buying), good food, good sex, and I got to check off quite a few "to do's" off my list...:)

70. Nothing really fun...
work related, but I will get to see some friends I haven't seen in a long time. I used to travel to Sweden about 4 times a year. I haven't been over there in about 6 years now and it will be good to see them.

I will come back on the 5th....then I get to go to Atlanta on the 21st for a week.

I'm also going up to Quebec City in Sept. I think that will put an end to my summer traveling.....it's been a pretty busy summer so far.

I quit smoking for almost a year....then one day and one cigarette later I ws a full blown smoker again. It gets harder and harder to quit, but the hardest part is deciding to do it......you cannot do it until you really want to quit. I am having a pretty easy time of it.....it's 6 months down the road when you feel like you have totally kicked it that you get into trouble...:)

Lots and lots of travelling for you, wow. Have fun and stay safe! I haven't been to Sweden (yet!), but it seems like a neat place.

I've never smoked so I can't really know what it's like, but I've watched people go through it, and I have great respect for putting yourself through that. Best wishes to you with it!

79. Yay!
Nice weather is such a pick-me-up, for me at least!

I know I shouldn't wish away time, and I'm sure there will be plenty of good in it. It's just a lot of transitions and uncertainly about what order to do major life things in (go back and finish school, possibly have another kiddo, things like that :) ) I guess it's more wishing that I didn't have to figure out how to actually make those decisions!

82. It is for me too.
Finish a BA/BS or a Master's? I guess it's just how you prioritize things at this moment in time and your career goals. I put off finishing a BA for 20 years, having listened to the naysayers who kept asking me whether I could even pass a test, let alone finish a 4-year degree. But I finally put that aside and went for it, showing myself I could do it.

Yes like is full of uncertainty and transitions for many people. Sometimes I think life is just a series of transitions, different levels of existence where we become different and hopefully better people along the way. You just have to decide what are the most important things to you.

91. A BA and a BS, actually
In electrical engineering and german. I'm about 80% done with each. I left school when I found out I was pregnant, and my husband finished his degree (made more financial sense at that time). Now she is 2.5, we're reaching a point where we would be ok living on just his income, etc. I have a stable job that would provide some family leave time if we decided to have another child not, but I think the longer I put off finishing school, the harder it will be, and my credits will start to expire at some point. I think I wouldn't feel comfortable going back to school full time until the youngest child we had was about the age of our daughter now, which would put it 3.5 years from now, at the earliest. That's a long time to wait. Whereas I could probably finish school in about 1.5 years and then hopefully either find a job I actually enjoy, or think about having another kiddo. It's just a matter of the order, and I think school should probably come first...

I've got both of those today, and tomorrow! Today I've just finished a really GOOD, HARD workout. I AM going to reduce this AWFUL apple belly that I have, or die trying! Time to kick this belly off...And tomorrow, I'm going to have lunch with Misunderestimator and Nothingshocksmeanymore at a local restaurant. It'll be our first time to meet, and we are all jazzed about it! I plan to post some pics, with their permission of course, afterwards...And tomorrow night is my local Dem. Club's meeting, and I'm in charge of hospitality...I'm also becoming half of the membership chair...All the above makes me happy!

I hope that your day is coming along, and that you are feeling better about things. It's very easy to be down, esp. with * in the WH...But we can't let the bastards keep us down.

That's the longest time since I was about 12 years old! I started using a device called the "Alpha-Stim"-it's a cranial electrotherapy device prescribed by my doctor that relieves depression, stress, anxiety, fibromyalgia, insomnia, pain, etc. without any adverse side effects (it's WAY more effective than any pill I've tried). I sleep through the night and lost 4 pounds without even trying (no stress eating) so I'm pretty happy!
