For me, it's a battle between Orange Crush and Diet IBC Root Beer.

What about yours??

Some people WILL NOT let Coke stop producing that stuff.
I should track down a 6-pack just to see what it's like. I drank it sometimes in the 70's when I was very young and thought it was okay then.

3. I'm addicted to the new Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper.
I tried it once, just to see what it was about, and now I'm hooked. I'm trying to drink a LOT more water as a penance, though.

8. Actually, there's plenty of reasons to stay away.
All artificial sweeteners are bad news in one way or the other, but since diet soda is my only vice I would hope that on the whole I'm doing alright. :)

14. Coke or Barqs
I get so addicted to Coke I have to quit it. It's like cigarettes are for other people--I'll never give it up completely, I'll always pick up the habit again as soon as I'm cured.

Barqs i just love, especially back home in Mississippi, where it was first made, and where it still tastes different than it does anywhere else. Common opinion is that it's the artesian water.

19. Artesian water probably helps, but maybe it's the sugar?
Edited on Sun May-22-05 03:13 AM by AntiCoup2K4
I know that you can still get Dr. Pepper in Texas and Coca-Cola in Atlanta that are made with real sugar and not the diabetes/obesity inducing High Fructose Corn Syrup. Maybe that's the same thing with the local edition of Barq's?

EDIT: I live in a town with a number of Artesian wells, and we used to have a beer around here that used the slogan "It's the water".

Trust me, it wasn't :puke:

But it probably does help REAL beer http://www.fishbrewing.com/

since corn products are not kosher for passover. Just look for the KP mark. Of course, you'll have to wait till next April!

38. No, they use the same formula
The ingredients list is the same. The root beer is more sparkly in Biloxi, less smooth.

I live in Austin. You can get Dublin (a small town in Texas) Dr. Pepper with real sugar, and Mexican Coke, with real sugar, and they do taste better--kind of less syrupy and more sugary--so I know the difference sugar can make. It's a different type of difference.
