1. Hey! One of my best friends is one of those dweebs on the Best Buy

Geek Squad . . . and believe it or not, when it comes to individual PC's, he does pretty much know it all (of course, he learned most of it from me, but that's beside the point). Kid doesn't know jack about networking though :).

I like being the IT administrator for a small company that will always need an IT administrator. It works for me.

3. I couldn't get a job there.
Despite over a decade of experience.

I had to pass one of those personality profile tests, you see.

Besides, I'd likely report them if even one license of Ad-Aware was illegit. (it ain't free for corporate use.)

6. We could all move to Asia. After all:
1. I've seen LOTS of adverts for game design, being pimped by some gaudy looking 18 year olds to lure others to get hooked into these naff programs.

2. By the time those naive kids graduate, every shred of game design (like animation design is) will be shipped to Korea, India, or China where piracy rates are astronomical. Junior or lil'Debbie won't be happy when they wake up...

8. Headhunter
I was a headhunter during the boom, and we made money hand over fist. It was great while it lasted.

11. I've been called worse!
One thing I developed was a very thick skin. I've heard just about every variation of "Fuck off and die," Doesn't bother me in the least.

My partner was a PeopleSoft Consultant through the boom, and I used to negotiate all his contracts. Man, that was fun!

9. I was a Inhouse Tech Support Engineer. Aside from analyizing
and patching the LAN and everyone's workstations, I also made purchasing decisions for software/hardware, wrote manuals and training documentation, etc.
