5. Was there an Army recruiter waiting at the end of the stage as
each of your received your diploma? Figured Chimpy would have some one right there to grab you guys before the ink dries.

Congrats to you and your family. Now go out have fun, raise a little hell, live a good life and make a difference.

12. Well...
I said I graduate HS today, not graduated, so I don't know the answer to your question. It wouldn't surprise me if you were correct, though.

20. Sorry, keeps us posted. If you need a commando raid to
spring you from the clutches of the recruiters just let us know. DU'll save you.

Enjoy the ceremony and be sure and thank you family, friends, and community. No one gets through any school without a lot of help. I am extremely proud of my taxes doing their part to make sure you had the opportunity for an education.

Graduating from high school was one of the happiest events of my life, despite throwing my cap a few seconds later than everyone else. Anyway, what do you have planned after high school?

I'm going to be attending the University of South Florida for the next 4 years. I got into their Honors college program to boot, so it should be fun.

When I lived in Tampa.Great School.Seems to get bigger by the day.

Played alot of BBall at their outdoor courts with the crappy backboards by the Stadium. If you do play there watch out,it can get nasty at times. Was involved in a few fights.

Their athletic center is great, they have lots of excercise equipment and raquetball, and BBall courts.Congrats on graduating.

8. Don't have to ask questions
I've got grandkids and once they get out of high school they have all the answers! Just kiddin! We once had a notice at our house that said something like "now that you are 16 and know it all, leave home." Got a lotta laughs. None left.

Best of luck and get that degree otherwise you are lost in the masses. Besides, it is a Great experience. This is such a special time of your life, enjoy but work hard. You have a loooong time to live so prepare now as the sacrifices are worth it.

13. There is life after high school
So many kids in high school get consumed in the bs that goes on there and HS is such a small part of the total picture. Those out there that are in HS need to remember that. The whole world turns around after HS.

35. It's true, it's true.
For me, those four years in high school seemed like they lasted for 12, and then after that everything zipped by too quickly. College was fun fun fun. Did I mention fun?

Congrats!

15. Are you planning to...
spend at least two years in the work force before going to college?

Please consider it. Most of the freshmen at my university are not prepared to learn anything. College is a complete waste of time for them.

When you really understand your own personal need for further learning it will be time to consider college. Until then, save your money and try not to accumulate debt.

25. I sure hope...
that you are the one who is different. In my experience, the smartest students get bored easily and tend to skate through college without having a clue why they are there (don't ask me how I know this).

Seek out professors who will challenge you. Avoid large, lecture classes. If you must join a fraternity or sorority, wait until your junior year.

Good luck. You'll need it.

27. Not planning on skating through...
I don't mind a challenge, depends on what it is, though.

USF has very few huge classes (surprising, isn't it), and since I'm in the Honors program, there's probably nothing to worry about.

I won't be joining any frats. Ew.

Going to sleep now.

24. A lot of questions, a lot of answers.
#1: Good God, no. Hated it. I got along with some people, but...
#2: Florida.
#3: Because I live in a very Republican area, and it's hard to find other Democrats.
#4: History. Something I really love, and the degree can be used as a gateway not just to law school (my intended post-college goal) but to many other things as well.
#5: Moving to St. Petersburg in June, and then...look for a part-time job (there's a used bookstore that would be nice to work at, if they have an opening), work out a lot, go to the beach some-basically just have a really nice summer.

Edited on Sat May-21-05 03:06 PM by lyonn
Just kidding, although I do. Husband went to lawschool a million years ago in the field of general practice but mostly criminal. Tough road to hoe. In this era it looks like someone in law must specialize, like doctors. How about politics? Sounds like something you would enjoy and that Is a big deal in life.

Edit: Actually have 2 good lookin g-daughters who do really well in school, college and HS. I have convinced them they are adopted because they didn't get their smarts from me!

I've been updating intermittently as I work on getting ready.

Plans:
Endure the ceremony.
Go to a party. My best friend's girl is throwing one, so that's the preferred party to attend.
Get laid (hopefully). It's been a solid 2 years since last time. :(
